Even the healthiest relationships have their challenges. Every family or romantic relationship is different as each unit has it’s own set of values, communication style and shared experiences.
I approach therapy from a Family System’s perspective— the idea that individuals cannot be fully understood in isolation from the family unit. When we learn how different sub-personalities function as a system and how the overall system reacts to other systems and people, we are better to identify the roots of conflict and begin to effectively manage arising complications and achieve greater well-being.
